A head start into the future

SEfL Project

About

The Social Education for Learning project was done during the end of May to conduct experiment about learning in differnt methods. The Junior and senior class combined efforts for a community mapping project. Our goal was to learn about the feelings of the people in the neighborhood. The two combined classes split into groups, and were designated to a certain area for interviewing. Our solution for this problem was to create several public service announcements that we would then broadcast on our school television station, Mustang TV. We hoped that these PSAs would raise awareness for the Abraham Lincoln community. The next step of our community mapping project was the editing process. The learning levels of the students ranged from inexperienced to professional. The goal of the editing process was to teach the students how to edit videos, along with completing a presentation that would eventually be broadcast throughout the school. The students took all the clips that they had previously filmed and used Final Cut Pro and other editing methods to mix and edit the scenes that would eventually be turned into a video. The students of Lincolnís AOIT program learned that the relationship between Lincoln and the surrounding neighborhood is vital and that the students need to respect each other as well as our community as a whole .
